WIAA Sectional and State Tournament Photographs & Video The road to the WIAA individual state tournament podium is very clear; but the road itself has never been an easy one to travel. For division 1 wrestlers, the process starts at the regional tournament, where the top four of eight advance to the sectional tournament a week later. At the sectional tournament (again an 8-man bracket), only the champion and runner-up earn the privilege to participate in the 16-man tournament in Madison the following week. 
Almost every high school wrestler that has ever crossed the threshold of the high school wrestling room aspires and works toward the dream of competing in Madison at the WIAA State High School Wrestling Tournament.
